The Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency successfully completed the District Transparency Certificate of Excellence program through the Special District Leadership Foundation for the second time. To receive the award, the Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency demonstrated the completion of essential governance transparency requirements, including conducting ethics training for all board members, properly conducting open and public meetings, and filing financial transactions and compensation reports to the State Controller in a timely manner. 

It is now more important than ever for local governments (including special districts), to be open and accessible to the public. The Special District Leadership Foundation’s Transparency Challenge showcases the many steps the Agency has taken to show it is available and transparent to the constituents and customers we serve.
